If you choose “Most Beautiful Woman”:
Headline: DERVLA DUNPHY VOTED MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN IRELAND
Sub-headline: Athlone Woman Celebrates In Style
Story:
Formal evening wear, designer names and sparkling jewellery were in abundance yesterday evening as a line of Mercedes cars queued outside the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin city centre. A few members of the public waited patiently in the rain to catch a glimpse of the celebrity women as paparazzi camera flashes lit up their faces.
Caitríona Balfe was one of the first to arrive, followed quickly by Jessie Buckley, and then eight-time winner Vogue Williams. Entertainment was provided by Daniel O’Donnell, but it was for the award ceremony that everyone had come.
Paddy Power bookmakers had Vogue as a clear favourite to win again this year. Then sometime last year Dervla Dunphy came to the attention of the judges. Dervla, a Athlone native, has really captured the hearts (and eyes!) of both the judges and the public.
Silence fell in the ceremony hall as its host, Colin Farrell, opened the golden envelope to announce the Most Beautiful Irish Woman of the Year Award. ‘Well, well, well,’ he commented before he read out the name, ‘I’m not surprised in the least – Dervla Dunphy.’
Cheers and applause echoed throughout the room, with only the noticeable exceptions of Jessie and Vogue, who could only manage a brave smile. As humble as ever, Dervla dedicated the award to ‘all the women of the world,’ and thanked her family for inspiring her to be the beautiful person that she is.
Dervla will be jetted off this weekend, as part of her prize, to a luxury spa in Hawaii with a friend of her choice. Pedro Pascal, Cillian Murphy and Dáithí Ó Sé have all offered to accompany her. Other prizes such as a year’s worth of Botox treatment and use of a personal trainer will go to waste as Dervla obviously has no need of them.
‘I’m really looking forward to having Dervla on the Late Late Show next week,’ Patrick Kielty said. ‘It’s not often that one sees so beautiful a woman with such an amazing personality.’
We at the Irish Gazette would also like to wish Dervla Dunphy our congratulations for being the deserved winner of such a prestigious award.
If you choose “Hottest Man”:
Headline: TADHG DUNPHY VOTED HOTTEST MAN IN IRELAND
Sub-headline: Athlone Man Celebrates in Style
Story:
Black tuxedos, designer names and glamorous models were in abundance yesterday evening as a line of Mercedes cars queued outside the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin city centre. A few members of the public waited patiently in the rain to catch a glimpse of the celebrity men as paparazzi camera flashes lit up their faces.
Paul Mescal was one of the first to arrive, followed quickly by Andrew Scott, and then eight-time winner Cillian Murphy. Entertainment was provided by Daniel O’Donnell, but it was for the award ceremony that everyone had come.
Paddy Power bookmakers had Murphy as a clear favourite to win again this year. Then sometime this summer Tadhg Dunphy came to the attention of the judges. Tadhg, a Athlone native, has really captured the hearts (and eyes!) of both the judges and the public.
Silence fell in the ceremony hall as its host, Vogue Williams, opened the golden envelope to announce the Hottest Man in Ireland Award. ‘OMG,’ she commented before she read out the name, ‘I’m not surprised in the least, and he’s certainly one of my favourites – Tadhg Dunphy.’
Cheers and applause echoed throughout the room, with only the noticeable exceptions of Hozier and Caelan Doris, who could only manage a brave smile. As humble as ever, Tadhg dedicated the award to ‘all the real men of the world,’ and thanked his family and friends for inspiring him to be the hot and sexy guy that he is.
Tadhg will be jetted off this weekend, as part of his prize, to an all expenses paid trip to New York with a friend of his choice. Margot Robbie, Zendaya and Nicola Coughlan have all offered to accompany him. Other prizes such as a year’s worth of Botox treatment and use of a personal trainer will go to waste as Dunphy obviously has no need of them.
‘I’m really looking forward to having Tadhg on the Late Late Show next week,’ Patrick Kielty said. ‘It’s not often that one sees someone that so many women simply adore and at the same time is just a really cool guy.’
We at the Irish Gazette would also like to wish Tadhg Dunphy our congratulations for being the deserved winner of such a prestigious award.
